It is important to know that the NCAA III is not allowed to allocate scholarships for college sport, but that only the divisions NCAA I, NCAA II and the NAIA may award scholarships. The NCAA III does maintain college teams and coaches, but does not offer scholarships for participation on these teams. Sometimes athletes in this division are lured over academic scholarships available for good athletes.
The sports recognised in college athletics (and therefore qualified to award scholarships) are decided upon by the highest sport authority, the NCAA and also the NAIA. This means that there is no chance to be supported in any other sport!
